After falling madly in love, ballerina Myra (Vivien Leigh) and British officer Roy (Robert Taylor) unwillingly part ways during World War I. Myra, thinking Roy has been killed in battle and starving, turns to prostitution to survive. She battles shame and struggles to reconnect with Roy when he unexpectedly returns from combat. Based on a play by Robert E. Sherwood, this wartime romance received the Academy Award nomination for cinematography and original score.
Admission is free but donations are gratefully accepted. Doors and bookstore open at 6. The Thomaston Academy building is handicapped accessible by the parking lot. For more information call the library at 354-2453.
