Job Opening
The Thomaston Public Library has an immediate opening for a qualified, experienced Children's Librarian. The position requires creativity, attention to detail, a love of children and children's literature, and experience working with groups of children. Duties include planning and running children's programs, selecting children's materials to be purchased, cataloging and processing new children's materials, maintaining and organizing the children's library and teen area, and maintaining and updating the children's computers. This job requires a Bachelors degree in the humanities or education, and library experience is preferred.
This is a 30 hour a week position and will include Saturdays. Pay commensurate with experience.

Resume Writing Workshop March 16th, 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.

On Monday, March 16th, the Thomaston Library will host a resume writing workshop featuring Susan Barnard of the Rockland branch of the Maine Career Center. She will lead a three hour workshop in the drafting, preparation, and proof reading of Resumes as well as Cover Letters.
This event is free of charge, but we do ask that interested persons register by e-mailing Brian Sylvester at headlibrarian@thomaston.lib.me.us, by calling the library at 354-2453, or by signing the sign up sheet on the main floor of the library.
